‘Friday the 13th’ Haunted Hammersmith Ghost Tour
October 13 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Celebrate Friday the 13th with a creepy ghost walk around Hammersmith!
Medium and paranormal author Patsy Sorenti will reveal the dark and mysterious side of this historic London district.
Here’s what Patsy says about the tour: “Hammersmith straddles the old Roman road from London to Windsor and was a stopping off point for travellers as from the medieval period.
It wasn’t a place where one would usually stay, since it was extremely rural with very few inns. From the late 1700s with the advent of the Industrial Revolution it began its urban life, with the villages of Stamford Brook, Turnham Green, Paddenswick and Brook Green becoming incorporated into an urban sprawl. Nowadays Hammersmith is famed for its two Underground Stations, its shopping malls and flyover, but there is much more to the place than a huge traffic roundabout.
Such an historic place would have its ghosts, and Hammersmith is rich in this cultural history. We will meet some of these ghosts on our Hammersmith Ghost Walk and hear their stories – some of heartbreak, some of fear, some of the downright foolish and one ghost being responsible for a change in the law.
Our walk takes in a haunted convent, a haunted churchyard, a former haunted nightclub and several haunted streets, in which the ghosts still walk. This ghost walk is quite widely spaced, so comfortable walking shoes and a stout heart are required! The walk takes around two hours with a pub stop. We will be hearing about ghostly nuns, phantom beggars, a lonely heart, a long dead dancer and two ghosts who came to grief under tragic circumstances, among other stories.
We meet at Hammersmith Station outside the Shopping Mall at 7pm. It is easily reached on the District, Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines.”
