As some of you may know, we put on a members-only event last Monday at the Jetlag Bar in London. The London Horror Society is a place for fellow horror hounds to congregate over the Internet and squeal over all the world’s gory delights, but what’s even better is if that can be done over a pint! So, that’s what we did by combing a night of horror films with good company and drinks.
First of all the amazing Scott Lyus, who helped to organise to event, screened his intense horror short Silently Within Your Shadow, which perfectly set the chilling tone for the evening. Scott’s latest endeavour in the genre is incredibly well produced, but we’ll have a review on that coming soon.
With the booze and conversation flowing, we paid our tribute to the passing of the monster-making legend Wes Craven by showing the fan favourite (including mine!) A Nightmare On Elm Street. Nothing beats watching those sleep-induced nightmares on the big screen with a big bottle of wine!
We’d just like to give a big thank you to all of you horribly lovely members that journeyed from far and wide to enjoy the evening and celebrate the first event – it was great to meet you all. We had a couple of our talented writers there, Scott with his ensemble of dedicated cast & friends and lots of others with varying professions in the film world.
We’re hard in the works to bring you all bigger and better events with maybe a few more splashes of blood and booze – so make sure you’re a member to find out all about it. See you next time!
